Empowering Future Local Leaders
The Robert R. Robinson Scholarship, presented annually by the Michigan Townships Association, aims to provide financial support to students with aspirations of leadership within their communities. This scholarship is tailored to assist Michigan students who are pursuing a career in public administration. Eligible applicants must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students enrolled in a Michigan college or university.
Each scholarship awards up to $1,000, based on a competitive selection process. Applicants are evaluated on various criteria, including academic accomplishments, community engagement, and dedication to local government administration.
To apply, students must submit a letter of recommendation from a professor or instructor, along with a copy of a resolution of support from an MTA-member township board in good standing. Additionally, applicants are required to write a brief essay addressing a significant issue impacting local government.
Deadline May 31.
