June Updates as a Trustee & Planning Commissioner

Here are my updates from the meetings I’m involved in at Cannon Township. To get the latest scoop, it’s best to subscribe to the website for alerts and/or attend the meetings. The public is always welcomed! Keep in mind this is from my perspective and not the official minutes.

Board Meeting Highlights – June 10

Our June 10 Board Meeting was packed with a full agenda, and I learned a lot about pickleball! Here are some of the key items discussed:

Youth, Summer Lingo Bingo Launch I'm thrilled to announce the launch of the Youth, Summer Lingo Bingo, a project I've been working on with the Invasive Species/Wetlands Committee. If you have kids, they are really going to enjoy this fun and educational activity.

Cell Tower Lease We had an exciting discussion about the cell tower. We decided on a 99-year lease for a lump sum of $400,000. These funds will hopefully go towards expanding the playground behind the township, geared towards older kids. Stay tuned for more details as this project progresses.

Rezoning Approval I had my first item on the agenda, representing the Planning Commission: “Recommendation for Approval-Request for Rezoning RR to LR-7255 Ramsdell-Wayne Gagnon.” The request was approved.

Upcoming Meetings

  • Next Board Meeting: June 24

  • Planning Commission Meeting: June 25

Everyone is welcome to join in person or online for the Board meeting.

Acknowledgments I am here to learn and serve! Thank you for the comments, warm welcome, and insightful feedback. Special thanks to Supervisor Grimm, Clerk Alles, Treasurer Spencer, and Trustees Balk, Betten and Olson for their support and guidance.
