Kent County Parks Marks 100 Years at Townsend Park
On September 30th, Kent County Parks celebrated 100 years, and what a celebration it was! Cannon Township Parks & Recreation, Kent County Parks, Honey Creek, the Cannon Township Historical Society, Matt Acker, and so many other helping hands came together to make the day a true community event.
From a hearty dinner provided by Honey Creek to backyard games, fun runs, and bike rides, the festivities were filled with laughter and connection. But beyond the entertainment, what stood out most was the pride and excitement for our shared community.
If you’d like to learn more about Townsend Park, stop by the Cannon Township Historical Museum, located at open Sundays from 2–4 p.m. May through September and available year-round by appointment. Just call Sam Fessenden to set it up at 616-874-7517. You can also become a member of the Historical Society for just $5 a year and help preserve and share our local history.
